Prof. David Mikeladze – The head of scientific committee
In 1971 year he graduated from Iv.Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University with degree in Biochemistry, in 1974 year he finished PhD program of „Human and Animal Biochemistry“ in Moscow State University. PhD (candidate) dissertation in Biochemistry was defensed in 1976, then in 1987 he obtained degree of Doctor of Biological Sciences in the field of Biochemistry. From 1974 works in Department of Biochemistry of Iv.Beritashvili Center of Experimental Biomedicine (former Institute of Physiology) at research scientist position, then from 1983 – as Head of Department. In 2006-2008 was Full Professor and Dean of Biology Faculty at Iv.Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. From 2008 to present works at Ilia State University as Full Professor in the field of Biochemistry. The main research area is metabolism of neural and immune systems, bioenergetics and mechanisms of action of biologically active compounds, molecular basis of neuro- and immunopathologies. Research investigation is carrying out in the Institute of Chemical Biology of Ilia State.
Academician of Georgian National Academy of Sciences, Vice-editor of „Journal of Biological Physics and Chemistry”, member of Editorial Board of Journal “Bioenergetics – Open access”, member of Georgian Neuroscience Association, member of Georgian Association of Biochemistry, member of IBRO (International Brain Research Organisation), member of ESN (European Society for Neurochemistry) and ISN (International Society for Neurochemistry).
He is a participant of many international conferences held in Georgia and World; Head of scientific committee of the international event – “Advances in Neuroscience – a Multidisciplinary Event” (2022, Chakvi, Georgia).
