Dr. Katerina Espa Cervena

Dr. Katerina Espa Cervena is psychiatrist and a board-certified sleep specialist. She received her medical degree in 1998 from the Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic. She completed her internship and residency training in Prague Psychiatric Center, Czech Republic and in the Sleep Laboratory of Gui-de-Chauliac Hospital, CHU Montpellier, France. Dr. Espa Cervena has 12 year clinical and research work experience in sleep laboratory of University Hospital of Geneva, Switzerland. Currently she is a member of Cenas Medical Directorate, Switzerland. She published several papers and participated in various international conferences. In 2011-2014, she was a Swiss coordinator of the Partnership Project between University Hospital of Geneva and Ilia State University, Georgia aimed to promote sleep science and sleep medicine development in Georgia. She was a co-organizer of international sleep training summer schools in Georgia. Her main research interests focus on different forms of insomnia and their neurophysiological mechanisms. She is the recipient of several national and international awards for her work and contributions to the field.
