Laura Palagini is Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and the coordinator of the Sleep Center and Pregnancy Center for psychiatric disorders at the University Hospital of Ferrara, Italy. In 1998-2000 she was a Research Assistant at the University of California, Davis, USA. In 2004 she concluded her PhD at the University of Pisa, Italy. She has a Degree in Cognitive Behavioural therapy for insomnia, Philadelphia (USA); Sleep Medicine expert, Cambridge (UK); Expert in Sleep Medicine –Italian Association of Sleep Medicine. She served as a Member of the board of The Italian Association of Sleep Medicine, Sleep Research Society and currently is a Member of the committee for the “World Sleep Day”, the European Insomnia Network, the task force “sleep and Women”, the European CBT-I Academy, European Sleep Research Society.
Laura Palagini is the recipient of several awards in the sleep field. She acted as the scientific committee member and as invited speaker at more than 150 courses, national and international meetings. She is an author of more than 80 scientific contributions and more than 10 chapters and book contributions in the field of sleep and mental health. Her main research interests are: insomnia and circadian rhythms disorders; sleep disturbances in mental health and pregnancy.
