Dr. Nana Narmania

Invited lecturer for participation in school activities

Nana Narmania, PhD, Researcher, in 1998 entered the Zugdidi Branch of Tbilisi State University, Faculty of Biology, and graduated in 2002 with Bachelor Diploma. Then in 2002-2004, she was a Master student of the Cellular and Molecular Biology Program of TSU, which she graduated with honors. Nana Narmania defended her PhD thesis in Molecular Biology in 2006. She began her research career in the same period at I.Beritashvili Institute of Physiology. From 2010 Nana Narmania is also Researcher at Institute of Chemical Biology of Ilia State University and teaches Bachelor and Master courses. Her research interests: biochemistry of CNS, mitochondrial bioenergetics, metabolic alterations in neuropathology and cancer. Nana Narmania is a member of Georgian Neuroscience Association, Georgian Biochemical Association and FEBS. She was awarded by Soros Scientific Foundation for best student presentation, IBRO, FEBS and Georgian National Scientific Foundation Travel Fellowships, in 2009 was awarded by I.Beritashvili named honor stipend.
